CR RAO Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS) was registered in the year 2005, and the Institute was named after Prof.CR RAO, FRS, the DOYEN of statistics. The Institute started academic activities only in the year 2007. The Institute has the unique pride of guidance and support of Prof. C R RAO and his students spread all over the world for all its research activities. The Institute is established with the aim of working in the cutting edge areas of Mathematics, Statistics & Probability and Computer Science, including their applications.

The thrust areas of research under the current projects are given below:

a. Discrete mathematics and graph and digraph theory, dynamical systems and chaos with applications to social, biological and physical and behavioral sciences, bio-informatics.
b. Cryptography, cryptanalysis, coding theories and applications.
c. Combinatorics and combinatorial optimization and game theory.
d. Statistics and applications ,specially bayesian analysis,
bagging and boosting methods etc.
e. Inference, sample surveys and design of experiments, biometrics, orthogonal arrays, time series and econometric models with applications to national development.
f. Financial mathematics and modernization of the Indian statistical system and others.
g. Probability theory and applications
h. Theoretical computer science, signal processing, analysis of algorithms and complexity and applications.
i. Computational genomics.

The CR RAO AIMSCS invites applications for various posts listed below from eligible candidates in the Centre of Mathematical Sciences (CMS), a project sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The duration of the project CMS is for 5 years. Prof. C.R.Rao, FRS, will be a distinguished emeritus professor at the AIMSCS and is also advisor of the CMS Project. Prof. C.R.Rao will be at the AIMSCS for atleast 5 months in a year, guiding the researchers on the projects.

Notes:

The above pay scales of professor / associate professor / assistant professor will be revised in tune with the recommendations of the sixth pay commission as applicable to the same designations in IITs and IISc..
The above incumbents are eligible to DA, HRA, CCA as applicable to central government employees and also medical insurance coverage.
Although the posts are for a period of 5 years initially, meritorious candidates are likely to be permanently absorbed by the Institute.

Qualifications and experience:

Professors: (Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science ) (18400-500-22400)
An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research in relevant subject , with 10 years of experience in postgraduate teaching, and/or experience in research at the University / National Level institutions, including experience of guiding research at doctoral level in a relevant subject

An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge in a relevant subject.

Associate Professor: : (Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science ) (16400-450-20000)
Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work in a relevant subject. Five years of experience of teaching and / or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula in a relevant subject.

Assistant Professors: (12000-375-16500)
Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work in a relevant subject.
Two years of experience of teaching and / or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula in a relevant subject.

Notes:

An outstanding scientist / engineer / technologist working / worked in industry with established reputation and who has made significant contribution to knowledge but not having a Ph.D degree could also be considered for appointment to the post of Associate Professor / Professor in extremely deserving cases with the approval of the Governing Body.

Adjunct Faculty Members:
Academicians / Scientists worked for atleast 10 years or retired from reputed academic institutions / scientific laboratories, having experience in the above thrust areas will be considered for enrollment as adjunct faculty professors. The remuneration include a fixed component of Rs.5000/- / Rs10,000/- as retention fee depending on the individual’s academic qualifications and experience. Travel, local transport and hospitality will be taken care, in addition to payment of honorarium at @ Rs.1000 to Rs.2000/- per day, for the work carried out at the Institute.

Upper age limit: 65 Years, relaxable in exceptional cases.

Research Associates: (16000/- , 17000/-, 18000/- )
Ph.D degree with specialization in relevant subject. Those who have submitted thesis work for Ph.D degree may also apply.

Research Scholars (Rs.12000/- and after 2 years Rs.14,000/-)
Master’s degree in science or B.Tech,/ B.E. degree in engineering with specialization in relevant subject.

Notes:

In case of Research Associates and Research Fellows, other than the remuneration, the benefits include HRA and medical insurance coverage as per the rules
of the Institute.
