Dr S.P. Sing, Professor, Department of Mathematics and Statistics (Retd), Memorial University, St John’s, Canada will give a special Invited talk on, “Application of Best Approximation Theorem in Nonlinear Analysis" at 3.00 PM on 7th Feb, 2012 (Tuesday).
Abstract:
The best approximation techniques are used in fixed point theory, variational inequalities and several related areas.
Here I will give Ky Fan's best approximation and its applications in finite dimension. A few illustrations will be presented in general settings. In the end, convergence of the approximationg sequence will be discussed
